Ritu Sharan is an artist in the purest sense of the word. She has a deep appreciation for the beauty in our natural world and uses her art to showcase the passion of that relationship. Her work is executed in a vibrant, impressionistic style that draws on the formal mastery of masters like Rembrandt and Monet, as well as the closely personal flourishes she developed while learning under her role model, guru and father- the great Indian artist and art-historian, Manohar Kaul.

In her later years, Ritu has felt the loss of her parents severely. Her father was her role model, her biggest anchor in life, and she feels closest to him while she is entranced in her work, tuning out the world outside of her studio.

Ritu is motivated by the relationship between the human figure and the landscape around them. The same kineticism and complexities found in us are often replicated out in the physical world, establishing an innate, mutual understanding that she is attempting to explore through her work.

Ritu currently works from her studio in the Bay Area, California.
